Here is a look at the comprehensive backend support Melody Magic offers to authors ready to launch:
We proudly use IngramSpark for our printing and distribution. As a premier publishing platform, IngramSpark provides top-tier print-on-demand and ebook services, boasting a massive distribution network of over 40,000 outlets across the globe.
Through this partnership, your book will be available to major retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and Target, as well as independent wholesalers, schools, and libraries both inside and outside the US. Formatting and collaborating on the size, style, and quality is what Melody Magic is specialized in assisting with besides just the printing. In support of the author’s vision and assistance with the illustrator, this is where the vision becomes a hand-held reality. I will go over specific essential details that need to be addressed in the next blog post, but here is what Melody Magic Publishing offers for authors ready to take the next step:
At Melody Magic, we handle all the back-end logistics so our creators can focus entirely on what they do best: creating incredible content and connecting with their audience.
We take care of purchasing the ISBNs for your project. If you're wondering what an ISBN is, it stands for International Standard Book Number. Think of it as a unique 13-digit commercial barcode assigned to every specific version of a book. Because it tracks format and edition, you need a separate ISBN for both your print and ebook versions so retailers and libraries can identify them correctly
Beyond tracking, Melody Magic manages distribution and helps find targeted advertising opportunities for every publication. Once your book is ready, we set up a clear contract with each creator to ensure royalties are smoothly distributed every other quarter. We take care of the heavy lifting so you can enjoy the creative journey.
Bringing a book into the world is a beautiful journey, but you don't have to navigate it alone. With Melody Magic managing the details, you are free to do what you do best… create.
Editing Your Manuscript
You have written your manuscript. There is a deep sense of euphoria coursing through you, and you’re asking yourself, “what now?” … This is the most critical phase; the transition from writer to author.
Before you show it to a single soul, step away. Put your manuscript in a drawer for at least two to four weeks. You need to kill the “recency bias”. When you read it immediately, your brain sees what you intended to write, not what is actually on the page. You need fresh eyes to spot plot holes or repetitive phrasing.
Next, comes editing your manuscript. Do not start with typos… instead begin with; “does this story make sense?”; “is the pacing off in the middle?”; or “are the characters motivations clear?” … This is the most intensive stage of editing. It happens early on, often while the manuscript is still a rough draft. The goal is to look at the overall structure, pacing, and content. This is the architect checking if the house's blueprint makes sense.
Then, move into line edits. Focus on the ‘melody’ of the prose… sentence structure, flow and word choice. This stage is about clarity, consistency, and correctness at the sentence level. This is the interior designer painting the walls, fixing the trim, and making sure the light switches actually work.
Finally comes proofreading which is the final pass for the “boring” stuff like commas, spelling and formatting. It is a search-and-destroy mission for lingering errors. This is the final inspector walking through the house with a flashlight to make sure there are no scuffs on the floor or cracks in the windows before the keys are handed over.
Finishing a manuscript is a monumental feat, but your journey is only just beginning. By moving methodically from structural foundations to the final polish, you ensure your story isn't just finished, but truly ready for the world. Give your work the patience it deserves and watch your rough draft transform into a published masterpiece.
Channeling Transformation for the World
There is important messages that need to be written for our time. When we hear inspiration, we are channeling transformation for humanity. When someone becomes an author, it is in the service of others. It is for others who live in the now, and those who live after we pass. A book lives beyond our lifespans. It is the messages we leave which become our legacy. Claiming your words, is a part of all our becoming… our intentional awakening.
When we become an author, you become an authority. The root word of author is authority. You can create 1 book, to impact thousands, tens of thousands, possibly millions of people.
Writing is more than just sharing your voice. It is a reclamation of your power and a gift to the future. By stepping into authorship, you elevate your message into a legacy and transform your insights into an instrument of profound, widespread impact. To write is to lead, to awaken, and to leave a permanent mark on the world.
“One World Vision”
Have you ever had something weigh heavily on your mind?
Have you ever had something weigh heavily on your mind but you always had a feeling in your heart of what the right thing was to do?
I want to share with you a quote by James Redfield, from his book “The Tenth Insight: Holding The Vision”….
“Together we are going somewhere, each generation building upon the accomplishments of the previous one, destined for an end we can only dimly remember. We’re all in the process of awakening and opening up to who we really are, and what we came here to do, which is often a very difficult task. Yet I firmly believe that if we always integrate the best of the traditions we find before us and keep the process in mind, each challenge along the way, each interpersonal irritation can be overcome with a sense of destiny and miracle.”
I want to break this quote down into three parts,
1. How each generation is evolving, building on our highest accomplishments
2. The awakening process we are currently going through, and how it is difficult
3. Integrating awareness as we go through the heavy things, each interpersonal battle, leading to our own interpersonal destiny and miracle.
We all love our parents or caretakers, we know they try their best. I’m in the same shoes right now, trying my very best. We all have taken the best, even if it wasn’t intended, from each of our guardians, and made something new and useful with it… built upon the philosophies, ways of life and spiritual connections that have been passed down. But where does that very best come from? It comes from our higher selves, our higher purpose, our vision for our life.
We all have that intuition, and intention for good when we are born, all of us… and we all try our best. There is no exception.
Think of when you were in school, and you were trying to understand a problem. When you finally got it, it was a huge sense of relief right? We all know that, yes, feeling. Everyone shares that feeling, when learning and building a new skill.
It works the same way with personal growth and spiritual alignment. We reach deep into what we have been given, and what is deeply rooted in the experiences we find ourselves in, and try to solve the problem we face, it’s through the challenges we face from our upbringing, that we can find that real sense of relief, and get to higher places.
There is a spiritual human evolution taking place right now, we are all in the process of awakening. It is difficult and often comes after what some call “the dark night of the soul”… after my own personal experience with this, I can sense a synchronicity between our individual evolutions we are meant to go through, and what our collective nation is currently going through at this moment in time.
One of my favorite people of all time, John F. Kennedy, said “Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate” …
I think what he means is, we must face the unknown with confidence. That we must balance caution with courage, and with that, we can as individuals and collectively pursue meaningful destinies
This principle is impactful when considering the negotiations we all have with ourselves on a regular basis. The doubts we have, the fear of the unknown, the things in our past we may have to work through… it’s interconnected all to our awakenings. We can’t negotiate with ourselves out of fear. We must pursue the process of change with openness, and without fear, and never fear what may come from change with all vulnerabilities exposed. Just like trying to solve that problem in school, you couldn’t quite understand, until you did.
If we integrate the awareness of what our parents or guardians were really leading us to with each passing generational line that preceded it… if we can be open to the unknown, if we can surrender to the awakening process, we can proceed universally without fear. We can collectively share in the version of all our bests, as our embodied higher visions for what can be within all things. That is the tradition we are just beginning to learn how to properly navigate. That is what I believe we are all meant here to do, our human authentic divine higher purpose.
I’d like to end with one more quote from James Redfield…
“If we stay aware and acknowledge the great mystery that is this life, we will see that we have been perfectly placed, in exactly the right position…. To make all the difference in the world”
